Emily SoRelle Adams

Emily SoRelle Adamsis a freelance dancer and teacher based in New York City. Although she began dancing around the house from the time she could walk, her formal ballet training started at age 10 after being accepted to the Kirov Academy of Ballet. She went on to study at the Baltimore School for the Arts, the Washington School of Ballet and the Rock School. After high school, she continued her education at Southern Methodist University, Meadows School of the Arts before dancing professionally with Ballet Austin and the Washington Ballet.

In 2004, Emily took a leap of faith by moving to New York City to pursue a freelance dance career. Since coming to New York, Emily has been blessed with the opportunity to work with several companies, including the Metropolitan Opera, New Chamber Ballet, Rebecca Kelly Ballet, CT Ballet and Eglevsky Ballet. She has also had the chance to develop her love of teaching through working as a ballet instructor on the faculty of dance schools throughout New York and New Jersey.

Emily is currently based in Woodside, Queens, where she enjoys life with her husband, Kenyon. She is a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, where she was one of the founding leaders of the Dancers Vocational Group, a ministry of the Center for Faith & Work. Emily continues to seek out performance and teaching opportunities as she pursues her calling in New York City.
